Sandra Dieckmann

Sandra's illustrations are all about layer's. They look colourful but not over the top colour. They look like there created by basic drawing, and other mixed media's which all come together and work effortlessly. Drawing, photoshop, drawing and so on, layer upon layer.

Susie Wright

whilst researching illustration techniques and methouds for future illustrations,i came across Susie Wright. Nearly all of her illustrations are created in black ink on white paper, with very delicate lines and intricate drawings. This perticular illustration of her's is created by those same methouds with colour added aswel. It stands out alot from the rest, especialy the yellow against the purple, mixing dark colours from bright.

Cobain illustration

Ive been pleasently surprised by how much my opinion has changed towards Kurt Cobain after studying his journal. The huge amount of 'ironic references' ive found are amazing, i never realised how intelligent he was.

"I spread you out wide open with the wing span of a peacock, yet all too often with the attention span of a bullet to the head"
"i parade you around proudly like the ring on my finger"
"i wear you on my sleeve"

Mit Senoj 'Tom Jones'

Visiting Lecture
Artist Tom Jones goes by the name of Mit Senoj (his name spelt backwards). He is an illustrator based in manchester who studied the subjects of graphics, textiles and fine art. His earlier work is very contempory based sculpture's, inspired by the human body form, where as his more recent work consists of drawing and painting in a two dimensional form.
He won the Joewood drawing prize in 2009 with his iconic god like paitings, which were still strongly influenced by the human form and the vanity that comes with it.
His style is very dramatic with alot of use of contrasting colours from dark black, to light pale greens. He use's simple line drawings amongst them, which work well and gel together.
